I have listened to regret expressed over a sinful past. I know from experience that having a disease can be compared to living in a cage with a grizzly bear. Have you experienced sin to such a degree that you are convinced you will never know cleanness of heart and soul? Has your body been attacked by disease to such an extent that you can’t even imagine being whole again? If so, let these verses from Psalm 103 renew your mind:
“Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, [bless] His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good [things; so that] thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Psalm 103:1-5).
We cannot benefit from benefits that we have forgotten about. That’s why we’re told not to forget about them. Don’t let the truth from Psalm 103 fly over your head without grasping it. Grasping and believing these verses is easier than to face the torment that accompanies not believing. Let the living God encourage your heart today!
